Best Yoga Breaks Around the World: 19 Yoga Hotspots for your Next Getaway

Are you ready to spice up your yoga practice by practicing in one of the top yoga destinations in the world? I have asked 19 experts to share their favorite yoga hotspot to inspire your next yoga break. From jungles to beaches or mountains, you will feel motivated to travel to these destinations where the yoga culture is strong and learn from the best yoga studios around the world.

1. Beach Yoga in Maui

If you love listening to the ocean waves crashing as you connect with the Earth, you’ll want to do yoga on Maui! Maui is the little North Shore town of Paia, which is one of the top yoga destinations around the world.

This Hawaiian island offers quite a few yoga classes, teacher training programs, yoga workshops, and retreats. It has a hippie vibe, a natural foods store, and lots of eclectic art. If you want to do Bikram Yoga on Maui, head to MAHA Yoga. They have studios in Haiku and Makawao (both adorable small towns), and you can sign up for teacher training programs. If you are looking for a place to do yoga on your Maui vacation, Afterglow Yoga has been voted as Maui’s Best Yoga Studio 3 years in a row. They have locations in Wailuku, Lahaina, and Kihei. They offer a “visitor’s pass” that gets you unlimited yoga classes during your vacation to Maui.

And if you’re dreaming of doing beach yoga in Maui, head to Big Wave Yoga. They offer morning and evening yoga on Maui’s North Shore. They also offer private yoga classes. If those options haven’t sold you on Maui being an excellent yoga destination, maybe this will: They have goat yoga! For a unique Maui yoga experience, take a 90 minute outdoor class alongside miniature goats. There’s even time to play with these cute animals after class!

Maui offers so many other amazing experiences to nourish your soul, like waterfall hikes, surfing, stand up paddling, and kayaking. They also have incredible Farmers Markets as well as a robust farm-to-table scene. By the end of your yoga vacation, you’ll feel energized and at one with yourself and the world around you.

2. Reconnect With Nature In Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a mecca for yoga enthusiasts! You can find people practicing all over the country. Still, the Nicoya Peninsula in Guanacaste region is one of the biggest epicenters for yoga in Costa Rica. The beautiful beaches, rainforest, and active lifestyles associated with the Northern Pacific Coast make it the perfect place to reconnect with nature and get back into rhythm with yourself.

You can find studios to suit all practitioners' levels, in all styles, and for all price points. Want to become certified as a yoga teacher? You can do that in Costa Rica too. Many studios in Costa Rica are open air. This great feature means there are no solid walls in the studio, bringing all the sights and sounds of the outside, inside.

Two of our favorite studios are at the Harmony Hotel in Nosara and our own, Drift Away Lodge in Playa Avellanas. Both open studios are surrounded by nature and are just steps from the beach. They promote sustainability in their way and serve nourishing seasonal dishes in their cafes and juice bars.

Surfing is another popular pastime in Costa Rica. There are breaks all along the coastline. However, the best time to surf the North Pacific Coast is November to March. One of the best surf spots on the Pacific Coast is known as "little Hawaii" and is located just south of Tamarindo in Playa Avellanas

For those who want to explore inland, there are over 25 national parks in Costa Rica. The country contains more than 5% of the world's biodiversity and a wealth of waterfalls. The Rio Celeste waterfall in Tenorio National Park is a real stand-out!

If you are considering practicing yoga destinations abroad, we won't hesitate to recommend Costa Rica as your next yoga destination.

3. Relaxed Vibes With Yoga In Canggu, Bali

Bali in Indonesia is probably on most traveler’s bucket list, and it provides something for everyone. Bali has a particular vibe that draws people to it whether you’re more of a chilled-out person who wishes to laze around on the beach, someone trying to find themselves or the party goer.

There are undoubtedly particular cities and towns within Bali which are more suited for specific individuals. However, Canggu has to be one that is well suited for all. Canggu has a relaxed vibe and takes pride in most restaurants and cafes with vegan options and being environmentally friendly (bamboo straws instead of plastic, no plastic bottles, and plates). As soon as you walk around, you automatically feel at peace and people’s happiness and tranquil vibes rub off on you.

It also helps that Canggu is surrounded by beautiful rice fields and golden sand beaches. It also attracts surfers due to the fantastic waves and makes for the perfect seaside yoga break.

Canggu has one of the best yoga communities around the world: yoga studios and retreats can be found on nearly every corner. Whether it’s a drop-in situated in a small studio or a luxurious yoga retreat in a 5-star hotel, Canggu has it all. The Chillhouse in Canggu is somewhere everyone should visit. It is based around a tropical lifestyle with lush green trees throughout the yoga resort featuring stylish accommodation. They even have their restaurant serving mouth-watering organic meals.

The main draw is their yoga. However, other services include surfing, healing activities, and soul treatments. They offer an abundance of yoga sessions every day, including vinyasa, hatha, kundalini, and yin yoga. For those who are teachers, you can even host your workshop, retreat, or training. Canggu is a real gem for those seeking yoga destinations and should be part of everyone’s bucket list.

4. Yoga in a Lush Jungle in Ubud

Ubud is a magical village in the middle of the jungle. Lush forests, curious monkeys, smoothie bowls, and yoga make up this tropical paradise. Paradise doesn’t come without pitfalls, one being that Ubud can feel like a crowded city, especially at individual yoga studios where people are chasing the Eat Pray Love fantasy. These 4 studios were my favorite when I was living in Bali:

  • Yoga Barn: I enjoyed the challenging classes, immaculate facilities, and cafes on this mini yoga compound.

  • Titi Batu: an excellent facility for yoga and wellness. This facility feels like the perfect place to have a luxury yoga break. With a pool, spa, cafe, and lounge, you will feel right at home. It may not be an everyday place, but when you want to be a part of a significant wellness community and enjoy a sauna or swim after your yoga session, this facility is excellent. I was turned on to Titi Batu for the reasonable day pass, class prices, and pool yoga.

  • Ubud Yoga House: Yoga in the jungle. When you daydream about doing yoga in Bali, you are probably picturing Ubud Yoga House. Set off of a small Ubud road, this place is a yoga jungle oasis. There is no superiority complex here- at Ubud Yoga House, “yoga is for everybody.” Be sure to drop in for a class or 10!

  • Intuitive Flow: Located just outside of Ubud, this is my happy place. Ubud can feel congested at times, and you will enjoy going off the beaten path. Intuitive Flow is a small, close-knit studio where the teachers can offer extra attention to students. It is located practically in the middle of the jungle, and you will enjoy the warmth of the staff and teachers. This is an authentic yoga studio great for beginners and experts alike.

5. Yoga and Surfing In Portugal

Portugal is known as a country strongly influenced by the East. Since the great discoveries have taken place, the Portuguese brought riches to not only their land but also soul food to process.

Portugal is one of the best yoga destinations in the world. In almost every city, there are many yoga hotspots and free meditation groups. Sometimes, these two are accompanied by surfing lessons, but it depends on what you are looking for.

Some of the most well-known yoga studios in the country are the Ministry of Yoga in Lisbon and Lotus Yoga Studio in Porto. Both studios offer various types of yoga, like Hatha yoga, probably the most ancient yoga style. Vinyasa Flow, which is a sort of fluid yoga, helps connect various movements and create a continuous flow. They also have other types of yoga that are more modern, like Sunrise and Restorative Yoga. Along with that, the studios offer beneficial group meditations, especially if you are a beginner. Some group meditation can be done outside or far away from the city on a beach or in a forest.

Suppose you are looking for a more non-committal activity. In that case, you can check the MeetUp website where you can immediately go to free group meditation with other people. Another way to practice meditation with others is to visit the nearest beach. You will surely find other people meditating, which you can join.

In case you are looking for a more extreme activity that is going to fill your soul with joy and make you forget everything, you should try surfing. Luckily, Portugal offers lots of places to surf, and you can quickly learn with proper guidance. My favorite spot is Peniche Surf Camp, which is close to Lisbon and offers a serene environment to rest your soul. Another place right for surfing is Praia de Ofir, which is close to Braga. You will be pleasantly surprised that the Onda Magna surf school offers surf camps with Tibetan yoga classes that you can take part in. Those two combined will make you more refreshed than ever!

6. It Is Impossible To Be Bored In Los Angeles

Los Angeles is one of the best yoga cities in the world. Not surprisingly then, people come to this city with high expectations of all that they can do, and boy does the city deliver.

From the gorgeous waterfall hikes in neighboring Angeles National Forest, the surf in Malibu, and the pristine beaches down south, it has many things to do. Not surprisingly then, yoga resorts have a considerable presence in the city as well. I have been a yoga enthusiast for almost two years, and I am continually looking to try different yoga styles.

One of the first studios I was impressed by is The Yoga Collective in Santa Monica, which is known for its wide variety of yoga styles and dynamic, down-to-earth classes. They have classes centered around breathwork, Vinyasa yoga, sculpting, and my favorite - Power yoga practice. You work up a sweat in a heated room. In the end, during savasana, the teacher places a cold, wet towel on your eyes - such a feeling of euphoria. Hiking is another activity that is particularly enjoyable here. The city has famous hikes such as the one that loops behind the Hollywood sign. Still, the breathtaking hikes are in the Angeles National Forest. They have an abundance of waterfalls on trails of various difficulties. Everyone can enjoy a hot afternoon hiking and then cooling off in the waterfalls. Lastly, it would be remiss not to mention the gorgeous surf and beaches. With its famous 1000-Step Beach and the hidden sea pools, Laguna Beach makes it feel like you have landed in the Caribbean. It is yet to beat any adventure I have had in the city. LA is truly filled with so many outdoor opportunities that it is impossible to be bored here.

7. Breezy Beachfront Yoga Spaces In Aruba

Aruba is already recognized as a top beach yoga getaway and rightfully so, with its beaches perpetually ranked among the top 5 in the world. It has slowly started emerging as one of the best yoga retreat destinations, being led by the well-known and New York Times best-selling author Yoga Girl aka Rachel Brathen, through her studio ‘Island Yoga.’

Nature and yoga both soothe and heal the mind, body, and soul, and when you combine the two, it only gets better. Pristine beaches, the sound of ocean waves, endless natural beauty all around, and breezy beachfront yoga spaces make it the best yoga destination to practice or even try it out for the first time.

Aruba not only offers indoors and oceanfront yoga spaces, but also floating yoga studios via SUP yoga. Imagine floating on turquoise water under clear skies with fleeting white clouds, and the tropical sun is filling you with warmth. Sun salutations just got all the more enriching. Not to forget, there are full moon yoga sessions held on the island’s beaches, over soft white sand, and under bright, beautiful moonlight with the sound of crashing waves in the background.

Many of these sessions are held alongside live music and the sounds of singing bowls, making it all the more therapeutic. The healing sounds of singing bowls and nature truly restore your mind and soul, leaving you energized for all the other things Aruba has to offer.

Besides yoga, while in Aruba, you can indulge in other wellness activities like hiking, kite surfing, and many more, which you can read about here. It is truly the perfect destination for both your tropical and holistic getaway needs packed with activities for every type of traveler.

8. A Unique Energetic Flow In Sedona

Sedona is the ultimate yoga travel spot! There's a New Age vibe around town. You'll find plenty of crystal shops, reiki healers & psychics. Sedona is home to a significant spiritual and mystic community.

Sedona is a Vortex site, which are thought to be places of unique energetic flow. Sedona's vortex might have something to do with its position on global ley lines. Others suggest that the iron oxide deposits deep within Sedona's Red Rocks give the vortices their power.

Regardless of the source of these powerful vortices, their mark can be seen everywhere you look. One example of the impact of vortex energy on Sedona's wildlife can be seen in the twisted Juniper Trees you'll find. Vortex sites are thought to facilitate meditative practice such as mindfulness, yoga or tai chi. They can promote spiritual healing, understanding and enlightenment. Vortex energy is experienced differently. Although, some may report laughing, crying, or feeling a unique sensation within their body.

There are actually several different vortex sites in Sedona. Each vortex site offers a unique experience and a unique type of energy. Hiking to one of Sedona's vortex sites is one of the best things to do in town. Some of the best vortex sites in Sedona include Cathedral Rock & Bell Rock.

Another excellent yoga spot to visit and a beautiful place to meditate or pray in Sedona is the Amitabha Stupa.

Besides spiritual fulfillment, there are a lot of other cool attractions in Sedona. Visitors can enjoy hiking around town, getting pampered at America's best Spa (Mi Amo), or feasting on delicious southwestern cuisine.

9. Nature Yoga Breaks In Lake Atitlan, Guatemala

San Marcos la Laguna is a Mayan village on Lake Atitlan with fantastic options for practicing yoga while enjoying the three volcanoes lining the lakeshore. There is a wide variety of communities to visit and things to do around Lake Atitlan

San Marcos is known as the spiritual center, which is why there are so many options for yoga classes. There are also workshops for ecstatic dance, lucid dreaming, crystal healing, Reiki, and meditation. The lake is located in the highlands of Guatemala. It has a temperate climate earning it the nickname “Land of Eternal Spring.” That perfect temperature means that most classes will be conducted in structures without walls. The Eagle’s Nest and Yoga Forest yoga studios offer particularly useful views of the lake during classes. There are so many different yoga locations around the lake that you will easily find the one that suits you.

Once you have finished your yoga class, there are plenty of other activities on the lake. For a peaceful and serene experience, join a group of paddle boarders with Venga Atitlan Outdoor Adventures for a sunrise paddle past the local fishermen in their traditional canoes to the middle of the lake to appreciate the sun’s rays hitting the volcanoes. A more strenuous option is to climb to the top of Volcan San Pedro. The hike has an elevation gain of 1,200 meters over a long and steady climb and ends with sweeping views over the lake.

Since the village of San Marcos can be loud with the dogs and roosters, it is helpful to stay at Pasajcap Rentals, a 15-minute walk away. They have apartments designed around impressive views of the lake, and great monthly rates are offered, especially during the rainy season. There you can use one of the palapas to have your yoga practice while enjoying the peacefulness.

10. An Off-The-Beaten Path Yoga Destination: Penang

Penang, a tropical island and UNESCO World Heritage Site on the northwestern coast of Peninsular Malaysia, is well known for its multicultural history, food, and street murals. Few people thought they would ever consider it as a yoga destination and well… they are wrong.

Penang has quite a few local and expat yoga practitioners who usually stay at one of the best Penang Airbnbs and keep their heads low. This means they don’t advertise to the backpackers fresh off a minivan from Thailand, but instead target the local crowd and the long term expatriate residents.

The most accessible is Wholey Wonder in 61 Jalan Gurdwara, a vegan restaurant. They have several classes and host meditation on weekends. Just next door, the garden of Hin Bus Depot hosts the fun acro-yoga sessions as part of their Sunday Pop-Up Market.

Another essential studio is Sunalini yoga, set in a George Town shophouse along Hutton Lane. Classes are small and run by enthusiastic Iyengar-style yoga, which places attention to detail, precision, and alignment in performing the right posture (asanas). Teacher Su puts a lot of care in helping each student feel the benefits of yoga.

The Space, located in the expat-centric area of Tanjung Bunga, is an intimate, cozy studio offering traditional yoga sessions, and other special classes such as prenatal and childbirth yoga, stretching sessions, chakra yoga, and yoga for kids. They also run Kundalini Yoga sessions on Saturday Morning from 9 am to 10 am.

As the island also has a strong Chinese Buddhist population, don’t forget to try the Buddhist temples and shrines for meditation. Bodhi Heart, scenically located on a flank of Penang Hill, is the perfect place to stay with local practitioners and monks. They come to teach from as far as Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and north India.

After your session, Penang Hill offers the best hiking on the island, with trails of different lengths and difficulty.

11. Stunning Locations Of Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is riddled with traditional spiritual sites held sacred to Buddhists and Hindus. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth in Kandy sees pilgrims gathering weekly healing sessions in the presence of a revered relic. The bright carvings of Naguleswaram Temple in Jaffna are topped by an ancient gopuram dedicated to Lord Shiva. In Anuradhapura, there's a holy Bodhi tree grown from a cutting of the one under which Buddha himself gained enlightenment. And that's just scratching the surface.

But the island's spirituality certainly isn't consigned to history and there are many yoga spots to explore. Somewhere up in the remote Central Highlands, amid seas of emerald tea fields, rice paddies, and gnarled mountains, the Ulpotha retreat fuses tai chi and morning meditation with cleansing meals of Sri Lankan spices and sambals. Closer to the coast, beach lovers can make for places like Salty Pelican. It's a yoga camp hidden in the jungles beyond buzzing Dickwella town, offering walking access to stunning beaches and coves.

The best of them is probably idyllic Hiriketiya. Fringed by rows of stooping coconut palms, it's got yellow-tinted sand that slopes into a gorgeous bay of green-blue ocean water. Residents include rare sea turtles (usually visible in the morning) and naughty macaques (watch your lunch!). With sunrise, you'll choose between yoga overlooking the Indian Ocean or surfing the waves – Hiriketiya Beach offers breaks for both beginners and improves intermediates.

Sri Lanka is considered a significant yoga destination in the making. The island has long been a hub for Ayurvedic retreats, offering curated packages of daily massage, meditation, and mindfulness in stunning locations like the old tea plantations around Nuwara Eliya and Ella. But yoga studios are now also all over the significant surf and beach towns. You'll find a practitioner offering guided sessions in most of the popular resorts of the south-west coast – Mirissa, Hikkaduwa – and the famous wave mecca of Arugam Bay to boot.

12. Rejuvenation journey in Uttarakhand, India

This Indian state is one of the best yoga destinations in India with its many yoga centers advocating for yoga as a way to lead a peaceful and happy life. Here yoga is seen as a way of life and not a passing trend.

The exciting part about Uttarakhand as a yoga hub is that it combines the learnings of yoga with the science of Ayurveda to take you on a journey of physical and mental rejuvenation. There are several yoga hotspots throughout the state like Devprayag, Narendranagar, Mukteshwar, Rishikesh, Ramgarh, Kanatal, Chopta, Khurpatal, Ranichauri, Soham Ashram, Harsil, and New Tehri.

Uttarakhand also houses one of the best yoga and wellness centers that makes for a perfect mountain yoga break- the Ananda Spa in the Himalayas. Oprah Winfrey famously described going to this place as a pilgrimage and not a visit. That itself is a testament to the sheer quality that Ananda offers as far as wellness through the practice of yoga is concerned.

Ananda is situated in the lap of the Himalayas in the Palace Estate of Narendra Nagar. Here you get to practice yoga combined with the teachings of Vedanta and Ayurveda. People from all corners of the world come here to learn yoga and meditation.

Besides yoga, there are several other exciting things to do in Uttarakhand. Zip-lining in Nainital, paragliding in Mussoorie and Rishikesh, bungee jumping in Mohan Chatti (near Rishikesh), camping in Bhimtal, Chokuri, and Chopta, skiing on the mountain peaks of Auli, white water rafting in Shivpuri are some of the must-do adventure activities in Uttarakhand.

There are several treks in the state for trekking enthusiasts like Roopkund trek, Chopta Trek, Dodital lake trek, Har ki Dun trek, and Pindari glacier trek among many others. All in all, Uttarakhand is a cool destination that attracts people seeking both - mental rejuvenation and an adrenaline rush.

13. Rishikesh, India - Yoga Capital Of The World

There is no question that Yoga was born in India, though it would be impossible to pinpoint an exact location. You can find Yoga schools, retreats, and ashrams all over India, but the most well-known spot is Rishikesh. It can become your favorite adventure yoga break destination.

Rishikesh is a small, picturesque town in north India popularly known as the Yoga Capital of the World. Rishikesh has been a spiritual center since literally the dawn of recorded history. But it has attained the "World Capital" moniker over time, possibly starting with The Beatles' famous visit in 1968, and building up as the Yoga phenomenon boomed. There are approximately 350 Yoga schools, retreats, and ashrams near Rishikesh. Some are venerable, grand old ashrams like Yoga Niketan, Parmarth Niketan, or Sivananda. Others are newer, such as my favorite Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram, which offers a destination yoga teacher training and has an excellent online library at AkhandaYogaOnline.

As Rishikesh is located in the Himalayas' foothills, on the banks of the Ganges River, there's much more to do than Yoga. Rishikesh is also an adventure capital and a jumping-off point for trekking, camping, white-water rafting, and wildlife safaris in Rajaji National Park. There are almost as many adventure travel companies as there are Yoga schools in Rishikesh!

With the surge in foreign Yoga students into Rishikesh over the last 10 to 20 years, a concurrent crop of businesses has sprung up to cater to them, making Rishikesh a fun place to chill out. There are scores of cafes, restaurants, clothing and jewelry stores, souvenir shops, and organic stores that sell imported treats (and Indian made versions) such as almond milk, essential oils, and nacho chips. However, as Rishikesh is a sacred city, the consumption of alcohol and meat is banned, so be warned that it's not a party destination like Goa.

14. Varkala

In India, Yoga is not about physical fitness but it is a way of life. Yoga in India is more focused on spiritual aspects, your lifestyle, and goes beyond keeping your body strong. Though there are many hotspots for Yoga in India, like Mysore and Rishikesh, Varkala in Kerala India is slowly starting to become travelers’ favorite yoga paradise. Well, Yoga by the beautiful Arabian Sea mixed with thousand of years old Ayurvedic practice of Kerala makes it a dream place for every Yoga lover.

There are many Yoga studios in Varkala focused on Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga. You can either opt for a Yoga Teacher Training program or workshops which are typically 2 hours classes each in the morning and evening. Morning yoga with the waves crashing the shore is no less than a therapeutic experience and in the evenings, the horizon goes all orange. Yoga in Varkala feels like going on a retreat.

Yoga classes in Varkala are very affordable as Varkala is also one of the best destinations for backpackers in India. Some of the yoga programs are all inclusive yoga resorts where food and accommodation are included. If you want more freedom in terms of choice of stay and food, you have plenty of options, either by the Varkala beach cliff or in Varkala Town. In terms of food, Kerala is a paradise for seafood lovers but if you are vegetarian/ vegan, there are plenty of local options as well as cafes with international cuisines.

There are many things to do in Varkala and it is also one of the most desired spots for surfing in India and both beginners and experts can be seen crashing the waves. Varkala is just a few hours away from the backwaters paradise in Kerala where adventure lovers can do kayaking or maybe just enjoy the local Kerala way of life.

15. Rest And Adventure In Pokhara

Pokhara is a chilled-out backpacker hub in Nepal that has a relaxed vibe, but at the same time is filled with adventure it is one of the best places for yoga in the world. There’s plenty of epic experiences to be had, plenty of cute cafes to relax in, and plenty of yoga studios.

Yoga is a favorite among locals in Pokhara. It’s one of the reasons many travelers are drawn to the beautiful lakeside town. There’s a studio for everyone – Mudra Yoga Studio is located in the middle of lakeside Pokhara, in a light and airy atmosphere with views of the lake. Holy Garden studio is another great studio that offers not only yoga classes but also meditation and massage. The yoga community in Pokhara is strong both amongst locals, backpackers, and travelers alike, so you’ll meet other like-minded individuals.

While you are in Pokhara, be sure to give yourself plenty of time to enjoy all the other great things to do in Pokhara. If hiking is your thing, Pokhara is the gateway to the Himalayas with plenty of short and long hikes. You can also go paragliding, or paddling on the lake.

Make sure you also take the time to chill out in one of the endless relaxed cafes or bars. The Juicery and AM/PM Organic Café are both cool and comfortable spots for a coffee, brekkie, or long lunch. For a good meal and drink, head to Moondance Restaurant and Bar, located lakeside.

16. A Unique Yoga Spot In Kathmandu Valley

I knew that my yoga teacher training in Nepal would be unique - a friend highly recommended the yoga school. It was well-hidden in the countryside two hours away from the bustling capital Kathmandu. So taking a yoga training in the birthplace of yoga and immersing myself in the local culture were experiences guaranteed.

I loved the experience for so many reasons. First, you meet many neighbors who are always greeting you with a "Namaste" and a smile and are willing to help you even though you don't speak the same language. Some mornings I was enjoying the powerful prayers coming from tens of people chanting from the neighboring village.

Being in Kathmandu Valley, my to-be-teachers friends and I had the chance to practice the yogic lifestyle in rural Nepal. That meant rigorous daily routine and thankfully, not many distractions. It was great we managed to add some walks in the nearby jungle, run to the cookie shop, and quiet time reading in the garden. All of that was between yoga philosophy sessions, asana sessions, pranayama, and workshops.

There is much to do in the area apart from doing yoga, so off we were on our days off. It's a 3-hour hike to the oldest Hindu temple in Nepal - the beautiful Changu Narayan Temple. If you hike uphill or take the bus, you'll get to Nagarkot - a resort town where if you're lucky, you'll have the best view of the Himalayas! Just a bus ride away (about 40-50 minutes) is Bhaktapur - or as I like to call it - the cultural capital of Nepal. You can splurge in different arts and souvenirs and get lost on its tiny but full life streets and squares.

Kathmandu Valley is the perfect place for those who want to experience yoga and the authentic Nepali lifestyle.

17. Yoga Holidays In Green and Vibrant Brisbane

It seems as if you can't turn a corner in Brisbane without there being a yoga, pilates or fitness studio attached to a plant-based eatery and that's why I love Brisbane so much. It harbors great positivity and focuses on being the best and fittest you possible.

If you're looking for somewhere that is green but vibrant, swanky, but quaint and promotes an active lifestyle and healthy living, it has to be Brisbane. Brisbane is a small and lively city with suburbs straddling the Brisbane River. With riverside boardwalks, traditional Queenslander houses, cute cafes tucked into exposed brick streets, pulsing juice bars, and parks littered everywhere, Brisbane is a gorgeous city to spend time in. I lived in Brisbane for 2 years, and there's never been a place where I've felt so healthy, happy, and in tune with my body.

Stretch Yoga in the central business district is perfect for lunchtime exercise. They focus on deep breathing, intense stretching, and reinvigorating the mind for the afternoon. Paddington is my favorite district in Brisbane. It has a long high street with an eclectic mix of vegan and exercise-friendly boutique shops. Yoga Bones is tucked into a quiet corner of Paddington and has a morning and evening timetable. Relax in the serenity of the wooden room surrounded by a green grass garden.

I cannot write about yoga in Brisbane without mentioning New Standard Yoga, which is out in the suburbs of Caloundra. It's an hour outside Brisbane. It just hugs the Sunshine Coast, which is another phenomenal area for yoga and living healthily. New Standard Yoga incorporates every aspect of healthy living. It has a full yoga timetable, a beautiful studio, a cafe, and an acupuncture center.

Brisbane has so much to offer every yogi that I have yet to find a city that can truly compete.

18. Calm Your Mind In Tarifa, Spain

Are you tired of the same vacation plans and looking for a healthier alternative that calms your mind and inspires your spirit? Try a DIY yoga retreat, which is one of the best things to do in Tarifa.

The best way to refresh your soul is to walk by the ocean surrounded by beauty and inspiration in the southernmost point of the European continent. On the coast, find inspiration for your practice in the wind, the waves, and the sun. To calm your mind with real purpose, practicing the benefits of yoga, meditation, and the healing power of silence are essential. Explore the beauty in you by reconnecting with your inner voice!

Tarifa is the capital of kite surfers in Europe. It has a rich history, and at the same time, it has some of the most beautiful beaches in the south of Spain. This destination is perfect for both experienced yoga practitioners and any beginner willing to practice excellent yoga.

Fluidity, rhythm, balance, deep listening, compassionate connection, and appreciative joy are common elements from the foundation of Thai Yoga Massage. Begin your day on the rooftop with a nourishing meditation to prepare your mind for an in-depth exploration.

Explore the beauty of the area around, read inspirational books, listen to uplifting songs, and be a part of the various ceremonies offered to enlighten your days.

Suppose you want to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Tarifa. In that case, I strongly recommend going on a day trip to Cadiz or Seville. Both cities are gorgeous and are perfect for learning more about Spanish architecture and history. Both towns are also famous for their tapas, so please make sure to take the time and relax at one of the towns' terraces with a bite to eat.
